How to get into Pinterest?

• Get invited from another Pinterest user.
• Click on Link in your email invite
• Login with your Facebook or Twitter acount
• Once you are logged in go to About → Help  (upper right corner)  Everything you need to know to set up your Pinterest profile is here.

When setting up profile:

• Be complete and use your business name
• Add a description for your business which contains your best keywords
• “Hide your profile to search engines” : Turned OFF
• Create a few Theme based boards -  Use keywords in title and description of the board
• Start Pinning ;)

Board Ideas:

• Executive Management Board - with Bios
• Blogs with Great Photos - pin with the content in the description
• Ebook and Book Covers - with descriptions
• Photos of your happy customers - with their consent
• Photos of your work, services
• Create a Video Gallery
• Photos/Vidoes of Events

Pinning Guidelines:

• Upload your own images from your computer or Pin from your website
• File names of the images you upload from your computer should be keyword rich    
• Pin from different sources, ie multiple websites with images related to your business
• After you upload your image - “edit” to add a link (if you did not pin form website)
• Add a description to your image (up to 500 keyword rich characters)
• Engage - Comment, Like, Re-Pin, Follow and be Followed
• Create a variety of boards with Keyword Rich titles
• Add “Follow” and “Pin It” buttons to your website
• Image size 600-800 pixels wide - no limit on length - don’t use small images!!
• Pin Videos
• Promote your board through other channels

Pinterest Terms:

• A Pin :  an image added to Pinterest
• Board : a set of theme-based pins
• Pinning : the act of visually sharing content
• Repin : reposting somebody else’s pin
• Pin It Button : a button placed on a website to make it easier to share an image from that site
• Pinner : the person who does the sharing
